Casting Room Hire in Madrid

A casting space with controlled light, a waiting area and parking at the door. At The Black Cactus Studios you have 300 m² of open floor in Leganés, twenty-five minutes from the centre of Madrid and outside the low-emission zone, to call people in, test them and record without the day getting away from you.

An orderly call from start to finish

The problem with a casting is rarely the test itself: it is the queue. Here people come in through the car park, wait in an area away from the set and go on camera when their turn comes, without crossing paths with whoever is recording. The production office works as a director’s room for watching takes with the client, and the dressing room stays free for wardrobe changes and touch-ups.

Camera tests, self-tapes and fittings

The light on the cyclorama is the same for the first person and for number forty, so the takes compare with each other with no surprises in colour or exposure. That matters when the director reviews the material days later and has to decide on what is on screen, not on what they remember from the room.

For self-tapes the infinity background avoids the visual noise of just any wall; the motorised 6 × 6 m truss with RGB LED panels lets you set the colour temperature and lock it for the whole day. If the project calls for a specific background colour, the cyclorama is lit to that colour with no painting.

Also for advertising and fashion castings

A lot of calls end up being half test and half photo session. The space is ready for both: if the casting is for a campaign, you can run the test straight into a session on the same set-up, or move over to the fashion and editorial set. If it is for an ad, the commercials set already allows for a client area and an art area.

Frequently asked questions

How many people fit into a casting day?

It is 300 m² of open floor, so the waiting area and the testing area do not get in each other’s way. Calls of dozens of people across the day have gone through here without anyone having to wait in the street.

Can I set up two areas at once?

Yes. The white cyclorama and the black cyclorama are separate, so you can run camera tests on one and a fitting or book shots on the other without striking anything.

Is there wifi to upload the material?

Yes, high-speed wifi throughout the studio. You can upload the takes to the cloud as the call goes on instead of waiting until the end of the day.

Can I book just half a day?

The minimum booking is 3 hours. From there it is billed by the hour, so a short casting does not force you to pay for a whole day.

Does it include a camera, lights and an operator?

The hire covers the space, the electricity and the use of the facilities. Lighting, technical equipment and crew are quoted separately depending on what you need. The studio’s equipment is always booked together with the stage: we do not hire it out to take away.
